60 Day Trim Up: Melanie Menke

Managing her weight has always been a part of Melanie’s life. And, with the help of 60 Day Trim Up®—she was able to break the cycle, gain control, and make the changes needed to fit her lifestyle—for 60 days and beyond! Congrats, Melanie! You’re a total rock star!

I’ve been overweight for most of my life. I was the kid who was on a weight loss program in grade school. My weight would go up and down constantly, and as I grew older—I eventually learned more about how to take care of myself.

After I had my first baby, I worked hard to get to a steady, healthy place. Then, the second baby came—and I put a lot of weight back on. It was really frustrating, mostly because I knew I could do better.

For the 60 Day Trim Up to work, I knew I would have to go at it full force. I started by eliminating sugars from my diet completely, and I cut way back on my gluten intake. I made food at home, rather than eating out. I tried to make small, healthy substitutions such as zucchini noodles instead of pasta, and homemade taco seasoning instead of store bought. I also lived pretty far from a gym, so we bought a stationary bike machine to work out at home. And, of course—I was taking my Plexus® products, and would drink as much water as possible. And, best of all—with all these little changes I was making, I was actually sticking to them!

I ended up losing 23 pounds in 60 days. Twenty-three pounds! And, once the 60 days were over, I kept going, and kept losing the weight. ◊*

I think the biggest change I notice on a daily basis is, the food isn’t as tempting to me anymore. Before, it was like food was basically sitting there, waiting for me to eat it. Now, I have more control. I can look at something and say, “I don’t want that.” And, it feels good.

I have more confidence now than I ever did before. It’s incredible to try on an outfit in my closet and realize it’s way too big for me. To anyone else who may be feeling like they’ve hit rock bottom and don’t know where to turn, I can tell you this—I’ve been there. I tried this, and this is working. I’m so glad I believed in myself enough to give it a try.
